Spring in Switzerland

Months: March to June

Spring is normally considered off-Season, even though March will still influence snow, and cool winter towards night and little rainfall. The day light saving begins by the end of March. The city will be less crowded, further will help your budget saving towards flight, accommodation and sightseeing. The month of April is famous for its flower show (Morges Tulip Festival) which takes place on Lake Geneva. Month of April is best recommended for budget travel compared to other seasons.

 

Summer in Switzerland

Months: June to August

Summer is considered as the peak season in Switzerland. The hiking trails will open, with cable cars (during June) the lakes welcome with boats and suitable for swimmers. It is a high season for couch tours as well, with tourist visiting attractions like Jungfraujoch and Mt. Titlis. The budget will increase on flight, accommodations, sightseeing etc. One of the major events that takes place in Switzerland during summer is the Montreux Jazz Festival which runs from late June to mid-July.

 

Autumn in Switzerland

Months: September to November.

Autumn is also another choice for low budget travelers, the sightseeing opportunity is minimal. However, beginning of September is recommended for low budget holidays in Switzerland to get best deals and indoor sightseeing. Some of the highlights include visiting Interlaken to see the beautiful Jungfrau, hiking the mountain trails, sampling fondue in Gruyeres and paragliding in Lake Thun and Lake Brienz.

 

Winter in Switzerland

Months: December to February

Winter in Switzerland is not to be missed by Skiing lovers, which is one of the best winter sports. There are numerous major events held around the country including the Snow Polo World Cup at St. Moritz, the Lauberhorn Ski World Cup in Wengen and the International Hot Air Balloon Festival in Château-d’Oex.
